Martin Haupts founded Phanes Group in 2012, giving the firm a distinct renewable energy and emerging market focus. He has orchestrated the company's transition from an advisory-focused firm to an integrated solar developer and investment manager with a transaction volume exceeding USD 250 million.
He has led key deals for Phanes Group, including the largest distributed PV solar project in the Middle East, the largest PV solar project in the Caribbean, and secured a 260 MW project portfolio in Nigeria as well as in several other sub-Saharan markets.
With 17 years in asset management and infrastructure finance, Martin has a wealth of experience in structuring and in-depth expertise in the cleantech industry and Islamic Finance. He was the Head of Asset Management for the UAE-based Gulf Merchant Bank, and established Dubai-based Themar Partners that was later merged into Phanes Group. Prior to this he worked for Credit Suisse Asset Management in London and Zurich as a Global COO Products and Solutions.
Martin holds an MBA from INSEAD, France/ Singapore, and a Masters in Corporate Law from the University of Hamburg, Germany.

Segun Adaju is the CEO of Consistent Energy. Segun has provided expert services as a consultant on renewable energy to various organisations such as UNDP, Bank of Industry Nigeria, Ecobank Nigeria, USAID, Winrock International, World Bank Group, Federal Government of Nigeria, Hienrich Boll Foundation, CTI Private Finance Advisory Network, Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves etc. He has been playing a key role in creating access to clean energy for off-grid communities and poor rural households in Nigeria and a leading advocate for the removal of fuel subsidy in the Nigerian energy sector. As the Public Relations Officer of the Association of Nigerian Solar Energy Promoters, he has also led the advocacy for the creation of a level playing field for clean energy technologies and supported policy framework including mobilising rural women to advocate for increasing access to energy for the underserved. He brings his over two decades of commercial, retail and microfinance banking experience to bare on increasing access to finance across the renewable energy value chain.
Segun holds a B.Sc degree in Economics and MBA from the University of Lagos Nigeria and has attended executive training programs in Harvard Business School, MIT/Sloan School of Management, Frankfurt School of Management/UNEP, Lagos Business School and Renewables Academy Berlin.

Habiba Ali is the CEO and Managing Director of SOSAI Renewable Energies Company Nigeria. SOSAI Renewable energies offers reliable and sustainable products such as solar lamps, solar home systems and water filters to the people of mostly the rural and peri urban communities of Northern Nigeria. Currently, SOSAI Renewable Energies focus on empowering communities and businesses with solar technologies.
Prior to founding SOSAI Renewable Energies, Habiba Ali worked at Developmental Association for Renewable Energies (DARE) as a co-founder and National Coordinator, where she started to involve in renewable energy industries in 2005. During this time, she worked on the CDM project Efficient Cook Stoves for Nigeria, The Solar Lamps Assembly and sales training programs, Solar Dryers for Healthy foods project and a host of others.
Currently, Habiba Ali is the Interim Vice President of Renewable Energies Association of Nigeria. She also actively joins as a member of several organizations such as the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, the Partnership for Clean Indoor Air, Global Alliance for Clean Cook stoves, Nigerian Alliance for Clean Cook Stoves and the Nigerian Energy Network.
Habiba Ali possesses a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, A master’s in Banking and Finance and currently at Dissertation level of PhD in Management (Finance).

Dan is a co-founder of Solarcentury and is currently focussed on the deployment of hybrid power systems across Africa.
He has been active in the design and deployment of innovative solar systems for nearly 20 years; Dan established Solarcentury East Africa which has been responsible for most of Kenya’s large scale solar installations to date and is now focussed on developing similar projects in West Africa. Energy storage is an increasingly important part of the solar solutions on offer and Dan and his team are presently delivering projects in Nigeria, Eritrea and Kenya making use of very large scale energy storage systems.
He has been instrumental in many high profile PV projects working with developers, architects, engineers and clients to create cost effective and attractive solar installations on buildings across Europe and led the design of a number of award winning solar building solutions.
He was awarded his PhD from Reading University for his work on the use of wind and solar PV for water pumping; prior to which completed his MSc in Renewable Energy and the Environment at Reading University. He is a graduate of Loughborough University of Technology where he studied mechanical and electrical engineering.

Chinedu has more than 10 years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus on storage solutions and solar power. In his previous roles, Chinedu was responsible for leading technical teams across Africa to install and maintain complex storage and solar power solutions. Chinedu holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology and Master’s in Engineering Management from Northwestern University.
